What happens when every AI agent does its job perfectly, but together they deliver the wrong brand experience?
Your sales agent is focused on conversion. Your service agent wants to resolve queries quickly. Your marketing agent is driving engagement.
Individually, they’re succeeding. But are they working together to deliver the experience your brand promises?
That’s the challenge facing CMOs as businesses introduce more autonomous AI agents. A sales agent might push a product a customer doesn’t need. A service agent might prioritize speed over empathy. Neither is necessarily failing. But the overall experience can leave customers questioning what your brand really stands for.
As Dave McMullen and I discuss in this episode, customers don’t experience departments. They experience one brand.
So what should CMOs do?
- Identify every customer-facing AI agent representing the business.
- Turn brand values into clear behavioural instructions, not just guidelines.
- Define what happens when commercial targets conflict with customer interests.
- Test the entire customer journey, not just individual agent performance.
Brand needs a seat at the table as AI systems are designed and deployed. Otherwise, marketing risks being accountable for an experience it has little influence over.
Watch the full episode to hear Dave and me explore why getting AI agents to work well individually isn’t enough. They also need to work together to deliver on one brand promise.
At FRENZY, we believe marketing should create momentum. But activity alone isn’t momentum. Brand strategy needs to give that activity direction.
